Shenandoah National Park is located in the state of Virginia.
Located only 70 miles from the U.S. capital, Washington, D.C

It is an American national park that covers an area of 806 square miles.
Shenandoah is the first national park in Virginia it was inaugurated on July 3, 1936.

The highest point is Hawksbill Mountain at 4051 feet or 1228 meters.
The Shenandoah park also spans a portion of the Blue ridges Mountains.


The skyline drive road is one of the main attraction 





The Skyline Drive climbs the Blue Ridge Mountains, an area formerly known as the "Daughter of the Stars" (Shenandoah) by the Indians 

The road winds for 170 km through the park, offering a succession of superb fauna and flora.
It is not uncommon to come across black bears, lynx, deer or marmots
